Not only tulips
(c) A. Skibinski Holland abounds with flowers. The Netherlands is known for its flowers. Fields full of hyacinths, daffodils and tulips attract thousands of tourists from all over the world. Seven million of tulips bulbs bloom in Holland every year. The tulips fields occupy the area of 30 ha . Holland is the largest world exporter of flower bulbs. Almost 59% of its territory is cultivated. There are high specialized farms and plantations. But Holland isn't only the agricultural country The chemical industry and highly developed food processing play the main role in Dutch economy.
(c) A. Skibinski Holland isn't rich in natural resources. Its own gas, coal and oil supplies provide only 5% of country demands for them. That's why excavation of oil from the oil fields in the North Sea becomes more and more popular. The geographic location and especially an access to the sea favour the development of sea fishing , commerce and transport by sea.
