Wody

The valley is fed with water by surface waters (water bodies and run-offs) and ground waters from the near-surface level and probably two aquifers. This, together with the highly complicated system of river channels have lead to the formation of a vast swampy ecosystem that fills in nearly the entire valley bottom. The ecosystem is characterised by mosaic structure of floodings, boggy and half-boggy, as well as dry-ground habitats. Hydrographic network is built by the Narew river and its tributaries: the Liza, Szeroka Struga, Awissa, Kurowka (left tributaries), and Kowalowka, Turosnianka, Czaplinianka (right tributaries).
