The place, where one may obtain the broaden information about the past life in the villages in Chełm’s region are:
- Museum Chełmskie in Chełm
-Pawłowski Ośrodek Sportu I Rekreacji in Pawłów (permanent exhibition of pottery)
-Ośrodek Dokumentacji, Życia, Kultury i Twórczości na Wsi Leśniowskiej in Kumów Majoracki (permanent exhibition of applied art and agriculture tools)
- Izba Tradycji Regionalnej in Turka (permanent exhibition of interior design located in the specially arranged room). Additionally, rich collection of sculptures (made by Józef Zagórski and modern folk paintings (of such artists as Stanisław Mąka or Koguciuk) was exposed.

Departament of Etnography in Muzeum Chełmskie gathers collections concerning folk culture and art of our region such as pottery, smithing, wood processing, agriculture, fishing, folk clothes and weaving. The museum boasts of a big collection of paintings, sculptures and other artistic works. Most of the items are closely connected with local traditions and customs of Christmas or Easter.
The museum does not have a permanent expositions, thus temporary exhibitions are organized, e.g.
-‘’Angles, Saints, Trunks and Pots’’ in 2002 presenting applied art. In a room arranged for the purpose of exhibition visitors could appreciate all the important craft objects such as furniture, house appliances, vessels (mostly from Pawłów), decorations, embroidered cloths and bed covers.
-‘’Turn my spindle, turn ...’’ in 2003 showing the traditional way of working on flax, hemp and wool. All the stages of the process were described with support of tools and photographs. The exhibition showed woven cloths and tapestry as well as folk aristic works such as sculpture and paintings.
