Folk poets from Brzeźno – Izabela Balik, Michalina Borodej and Antonina Piątek wrote poems that reflected times they lived as well as the past and traditions. Their poems were quick reactions to everyday life, ceremonies, and holidays or local customs. They show village life of the 2nd half of the 20th century – housework and field work, which was dependent on four seasons. Apart from routine actions the women were sensitive to national and social events, and of course religious holidays. God and faith became the most precious values in their creation. This also lead to admiration of beauty of nature as God’s creation. Most of poems are full of joy written usually for children such as fairy tales or riddles, but there are also poems describing farmer’s life and his three main values: land, work and family.
